Asma Mushtaq’s sudden passing after Spantik summit saddens the mountaineering world.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistani mountaineer and travel vlogger Asma Mushtaq passed away during her expedition on Spantik Peak. She successfully summited the 7,027-meter peak in the Karakoram range.
Asma Mushtaq, born on February 7, 1992, was renowned for her passion for adventure and natural landscapes. She was considered among the globally recognized mountaineers.
Reports indicate that Asma, along with her guide Ali Akbar, successfully reached the summit of Spantik. However, on the descent, she suffered from high altitude sickness.
Her guide provided initial medical assistance, but her condition worsened, and she could not survive. Authorities from Karakoram Calling Treks are assisting in the repatriation of her body.
It is noteworthy that Asma Mushtaq’s passing has elicited deep sorrow on social media, with condolences pouring in for her family.
