Karakoram: (RightNow) The rescue operation to transfer Dr. Asma Mushtaq’s body from Camp 3 to Base Camp on Spantik Mountain has been postponed. The rescue team has returned to Camp 2 due to severe weather.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that efforts to retrieve Dr. Asma’s body are ongoing. High-altitude porters were attempting to reach Camp 3, but adverse weather conditions hindered their progress.

According to the Information Minister, the plan to bring Dr. Asma’s body to Base Camp is affected. Alternative arrangements have been made, and there is full coordination with the Gilgit-Baltistan government and FCNA.

This incident is significant as challenges are being faced in retrieving Dr. Asma’s body. The government is making every possible effort to ensure the body’s return.

It is noteworthy that helicopter retrieval permission has been granted. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is being continuously updated on the situation.
