Lahore: (RightNow) Former Federal Minister Mohammad Ali Durrani emphasizes the need for new provinces in Pakistan, citing constitutional requirements. He highlights the absence of local government institutions as a weakness in the governance system.

During a press conference, Durrani proposed the creation of new provinces in Bahawalpur and Hazara. He stated that the constitutional requirements for these provinces have been fulfilled.

Durrani further mentioned plans to present a constitutional amendment in the Assembly and Senate. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assemblies have already approved the relevant resolutions.

He asserted that new provinces would help resolve public issues and improve governance by making problem-solving more accessible to the people.

It is noteworthy that Mohammad Ali Durrani supports the establishment of new provinces and advocates for a phased approach similar to India and Iran.
