Quetta: (RightNow) Polling is underway in Balochistan’s districts of Zhob, Loralai, and Sibi for by-elections. Voting is being conducted for 6 general seats in municipal committees and union councils.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 19 candidates are contesting these elections. A total of 5,546 voters are registered, including 2,942 men and 2,604 women.

Eight polling stations have been set up, with 2 for men, 2 for women, and 4 combined. Six polling stations are declared sensitive, while 2 are normal.

The Election Commission states that polling will continue uninterrupted until 4 PM. These elections could significantly impact the political landscape of the area.

It is noteworthy that these by-elections are being held under the local government system. The aim is to strengthen local representation for the public.
