Mian Channu: (RightNow) Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has responded to social media criticism for not defending his title at the Commonwealth Games. He stated that the cold weather affected his physical condition, impacting his performance.

Arshad Nadeem mentioned that after participating in the Glasgow event, he safely returned to his hometown. He apologized to the nation, explaining that he aimed to perform his best, but the conditions were not favorable.

He noted that he trained in Pakistan’s warm climate, while the competition venue was cold, affecting his performance. He said his fitness was good, but the weather change created challenges in his run-up.

Arshad emphasized that ups and downs are part of sports, and he is determined to perform better in future competitions. He announced his participation in the World Athletics Championship in Hungary and the Asian Games.

It is noteworthy that Arshad Nadeem failed to defend his title at the Commonwealth Games, not making it to the top 8 in the javelin throw final, while the gold medal went to Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesha Tharanga.
