Islamabad: (RightNow) Funds of Rs 45 million allocated for Mazar-e-Quaid have been transferred to the Ministry of Education. The Senate Functional Committee on Devolution expressed shock and anger over this revelation. The committee instructed that the funds be spent on Mazar-e-Quaid and announced monitoring.

The briefing was held under the chairmanship of Committee Convener Senator Zameer Hussain. It was revealed that Rs 295 million was approved for the renovation of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum. No funds had been previously released for Mazar-e-Quaid. In the current fiscal year, Rs 45 million was allocated, which has now been transferred to the Ministry of Education.

Committee Convener Zameer Hussain stated that funds allocated for the development of Mazar-e-Quaid should not be diverted to any other ministry. He emphasized that the expenditure process will be monitored to ensure the funds are spent on the mausoleum.

This issue is significant as Mazar-e-Quaid is a historical heritage of Pakistan and must be preserved. The transfer of funds could affect the renovation of the mausoleum.

It is noteworthy that the issue of fund shortages for Mazar-e-Quaid has arisen in the past. This matter holds national importance and requires attention.
