Islamabad: (RightNow) A meeting of the Emergency Response Committee was held at the NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Center. The meeting reviewed preparations to tackle the risks of Monsoon 2026.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal chaired the meeting. Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar participated via video link. Other ministers and institutional representatives also attended.

The NDMA Chairman stated that connections with provincial departments have been strengthened. Focus is on avoiding delays in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.

The meeting discussed public awareness, supply of relief materials, evacuation plans, and inter-agency cooperation. Monitoring of roads, electricity, dams, and water conditions is ongoing.

It is noteworthy that during the monsoon, the NDMA is fully active to protect human lives, livelihoods, and national infrastructure.
