Kundian: (RightNow) Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in the Indus River. Water flow has increased at Chashma and Jinnah Barrages.

At Chashma Barrage, water inflow has reached 277,000 cusecs, creating a low-level flood. The situation at Jinnah Barrage is also becoming dangerous.

According to IRSA sources, water outflow from Chashma Barrage is recorded at 265,000 cusecs. The water level at Chashma Barrage has reached 647 feet, and all gates have been opened.

This flooding poses a threat to local agriculture and residents. People are advised to move to safer locations.

It is noteworthy that in recent years, climate change has increased the intensity of rains, causing flooding in various parts of Pakistan.
