Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) Azad Kashmir’s Chief Election Commissioner Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal announces general elections in three phases. A new election schedule has been released.
According to the Chief Election Commissioner, elections in Mirpur Division will be held on July 27. Muzaffarabad will vote on August 2, while Poonch Division elections are set for August 10.
Results of the phased elections will be announced on the evening of polling day. Elections in 12 constituencies for refugees residing in Pakistan will also occur on August 2.
The Election Commission has rejected demands to postpone the general elections, stating that all arrangements for transparent and peaceful elections are complete.
It is noteworthy that the change in the election schedule aims to enhance administrative efficiency and improve security and election staff deployment.
