Islamabad: (RightNow) An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has sentenced Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha to 10 years in prison for interfering in government affairs. The court, delivering the verdict at Adiala Jail, also imposed fines on the accused.

The case against Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali was registered on October 25, 2024. Seven witnesses were presented, and charges were filed on October 7.

The court sentenced them to a total of 13 years under three sections, with a fine of 50 thousand rupees, but reduced the sentence to 10 years under section 182.

This decision is significant as the court ordered the arrest and presentation of the accused, revoking their right to cross-examination.

It is noteworthy that the Islamabad High Court had instructed not to sentence anyone without a fair trial, and the Supreme Court had ordered to halt the trial.
