Riyadh: (RightNow) A Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has resulted in 12 deaths and 309 injuries. This marks the third major attack on the airport this week.

According to the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, the deceased include 4 Saudi nationals and one each from Bangladesh, the USA, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Egypt. The injured have been taken to hospitals for immediate medical aid.

Following the attack, Saudi authorities have suspended all flights at King Khalid International Airport. The US Secretary of State condemned the attack, calling it an assault on innocent civilians.

This attack poses a significant threat to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s economic plans. It affects regional peace and stability and challenges Saudi Arabia’s global standing.

It is noteworthy that earlier this week, two attacks on the airport resulted in 4 deaths and damage to a Saudi commercial aircraft. Saudi coalition forces have vowed to respond to the Houthi attacks.
