Dubai: (RightNow) A FlyDubai co-pilot planned a suicide attack at Tel Aviv Airport. The attack was thwarted, and the plane landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The UAE Attorney General stated that no suspicious signs were detected during the security check at recruitment. The search for the co-pilot’s potential accomplices is ongoing.

Authorities revealed the suspect was influenced by the September 11, 2001 attacks and aimed for a similar act. Investigations uncovered his familiarity with the airport during visits to Tel Aviv.

The 29-year-old Omani co-pilot on a flight from Dubai to Israel planned to crash the plane into Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport building.

It is noteworthy that on September 30, 2026, the suspect attacked the captain with an emergency axe in the cockpit. However, intervention by an additional pilot, crew, and passengers ensured the plane landed safely in Saudi Arabia.
