Lahore High Court dismisses Civil Judge Zil-e-Huma for absenteeism despite show-cause notice.
Lahore: (RightNow) The Lahore High Court has dismissed Civil Judge Zil-e-Huma due to continuous absenteeism. According to a notification issued by Registrar Abdul Rahim, the dismissal is effective immediately.
The departmental action was taken under the Punjab Civil Servants Rules 1999. Zil-e-Huma was accused of being absent from duty after the completion of her deputation period. Allegations of corruption and misconduct were also made against her.
The inquiry officer reviewed all evidence and confirmed the allegations. It was recommended that the judge be dismissed. The inquiry officer also provided her an opportunity to explain.
The Chief Justice and judges of the Lahore High Court thoroughly examined the matter. A show-cause notice was issued to the judge, but she failed to appear personally.
It should be noted that the High Court issued the final dismissal order based on all evidence and the hearing officer’s note. The judge’s absence was considered her silence.
