Attock Jail Superintendent Imran Barth arrested for bribery under Punjab CM’s anti-corruption vision.
Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Attock Jail Superintendent Imran Barth has been arrested for accepting a bribe at the residence of the IG Prisons Punjab. This action was taken under the anti-corruption vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The Punjab government has issued strict directives to eliminate corruption in the prison department. Under these directives, Imran Barth was caught red-handed accepting a bribe.
The IG Prisons Punjab immediately reported the bribery to the Punjab Home Secretary. Subsequently, the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab conducted an operation and arrested the accused.
This action is significant as it targets a high-ranking official, demonstrating an indiscriminate approach against corruption. It highlights that anti-corruption efforts are being carried out without bias.
It is important to note that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption is being enforced in the prison department. No officer is considered above the law.
