Chashma: (RightNow) The Chashma-1 Nuclear Power Plant has set a new record with 427 days of continuous operation. The plant’s electricity production cost is Rs 6.87 per unit, making it the cheapest after hydropower.

According to the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission’s statement, Chashma-1 achieved a perfect score of 100 in two consecutive quarters. This record reflects the technical expertise of engineers, scientists, and staff.

The total production capacity of Pakistan’s six nuclear power plants under the Atomic Energy Commission is 3,530 megawatts. The success of Chashma-1 has further highlighted PAEC’s role.
