Karachi: (RightNow) MQM Pakistan has responded to Sharjeel Inam Memon’s allegations, stating that those dividing Sindh on rural and urban lines should account for their performance. Sharjeel Memon must address the 18-year performance of the Sindh government instead of repeating past accusations.

The MQM spokesperson stated that public issues cannot be addressed by recounting past stories. The demand for citizens’ resources and powers is not against any ethnicity but a public right. MQM questions who is responsible for utilizing Karachi’s resources for its citizens.

The spokesperson asked Sharjeel Memon how much has been spent on the city compared to the resources obtained from Karachi. MQM stated that accusations of ethnic bias cannot suppress the demand for the rights of deprived people.

MQM stated that if the government disagrees with their demands, it should respond with arguments, statistics, and ground realities instead of accusations. MQM advocates for fair distribution of powers and urban rights, not hatred and division.

It is noteworthy that MQM has previously accused the Sindh government of unfair distribution of administrative powers and resources. The rural-urban divide has been a significant issue in Sindh’s politics.
