Peshawar: (RightNow) A severe hailstorm has damaged standing crops and other items in Mohmand and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hailstones the size of eggs have caused financial losses to farmers.

According to local residents, the hailstorm in Pandiali Tehsil of Mohmand district has affected the tomato crop. In some areas, the ready-to-harvest crops have been completely destroyed.

Farmers have reported that the hailstorm has severely damaged the tomato crop, increasing their financial loss concerns. Authorities have stated that no casualties have been reported.

In the Gambati area of Tehsil Ambar, solar panels on homes and lands have also been broken due to the hailstorm. The affected people have appealed to the government and relevant agencies for assistance.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first instance of large hailstones falling in these districts. For the past 4 years, hailstorms have been occurring in these areas during the summer, causing damage to crops and other items.
