Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab government has requested the federal government for the deployment of the army and Rangers in light of the PTI long march. This decision aims to strengthen security measures.

Sources have revealed that the deployment of Rangers has been requested in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Mianwali. Additionally, the deployment of the army in Rawalpindi has also been sought.

According to the Home Department, this step is necessary to maintain law and order. The deployment of the army and Rangers has been requested until October 5.

The long march is scheduled to proceed towards Islamabad on September 27. The Punjab government is taking measures to control the situation.

It is noteworthy that Islamabad police have demanded expenses amounting to 827 million rupees for the march.
