Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan ranks among the top countries borrowing to tackle climate change impacts. According to an IMF report, Pakistan is placed ninth for the fiscal year 2026.

The IMF has announced aid for flood victims, providing loans to five countries, with Pakistan receiving the largest loan in the Middle East and Central Asia.

Pakistan has received 1 billion SDRs, equivalent to approximately $1.37 billion. The IMF considers this amount crucial for addressing climate change challenges.

This initiative strengthens Pakistan’s efforts to combat climate change challenges and benefits the local economy.
