Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Security measures are finalized to prevent PTI’s long march on September 27. Police and Rangers are deployed in Rawalpindi Division.

Over 43,000 police personnel are stationed across Rawalpindi Division. Forces are deployed in Attock, Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, and Chakwal to prevent protesters from entering the twin cities.

Police will be present at 26 entry points and 73 blocking points in Rawalpindi. Authorities have requested 500 raptor guns and 57,000 rubber bullets to manage the long march.

The government has decided to keep Rawalpindi and Islamabad open until the march approaches. Actions will be taken according to the situation once the march enters Punjab.

It is noteworthy that the M1 Motorway is closed from Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chach Interchange. GT Road N5 is also closed at Attock Khurd for all traffic.
