Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal government has issued the Tosha Khana Rules 2026, which are now in effect. Under the new rules, all government officials, except the President and Prime Minister, are advised to refrain from accepting gifts in their official capacity.

According to the official statement, private individuals accompanying government officials and delegations are also prohibited from accepting personal gifts. If accepting a gift is unavoidable, it must be submitted to the Tosha Khana.

The new rules allow employees from Grade 1 to 4 to keep cash awards received from diplomatic figures. However, legal action will be taken to discourage such awards.

It is important to note that the purpose of the Tosha Khana Rules is to ensure transparency in the receipt, declaration, and submission of gifts received in an official capacity.

Previously, the method for accepting and disposing of gifts was abolished with the introduction of the new rules.
