Lahore: (RightNow) The Lahore High Court held a hearing on a contempt of court petition against police officers. The court has summoned Punjab IG Rao Abdul Karim in person.

Chief Justice Alia Neelum heard the petition filed by Mian Muhammad Jamil. During the hearing, SP Abdullah appeared in court but failed to read the FIR.

The Chief Justice expressed displeasure over SP Abdullah’s failure. She noted that the FIR contained unclear writing and errors the size of flies.

The significance of this case lies in the unacceptable behavior of the police despite court orders. This raises questions about the performance of Punjab Police.

It is noteworthy that the petitioner challenged the session court’s decision in the high court. The Lahore High Court’s single bench had suspended the decision to register the case.
