Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Wani insists on playing Asian Champions Trophy matches at a neutral venue instead of India. He stated that the final decision will be made by the Asian Hockey Federation.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Mohiuddin Wani expressed high expectations for the Pakistan hockey team’s performance in the ongoing Asian Games in Japan. He added that the federation’s efforts have improved the team’s performance.

Mohiuddin Wani mentioned that the Pakistan hockey team has defeated some of the world’s best teams and performed well against India. He noted that the players’ morale is significantly high.

He further stated that players are receiving better training and facilities, and their fitness standards are improving. He expressed hope that Pakistan will achieve excellent results in global hockey in the next two to three years.

It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s decision is influenced by the political relations between India and Pakistan, which have posed challenges in sports diplomacy between the two countries.
