Lahore: (RightNow) PCB announces the expansion of its school cricket program nationwide. The second season will kick off with an inaugural match between Beaconhouse and Aitchison College.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi will be the chief guest at the event, followed by a concert by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Entry to the stadium is free to encourage more spectators to support young players.

The Pakistan Cricket Board states that accessing and training talent is their responsibility. Therefore, school cricket is being integrated as a key part of the national cricket system.

Last year, 450 schools from 39 districts participated in the school cricket program. This year, the plan is to expand to 1,400 schools across 100 districts.

The Pakistan Cricket Board aims to identify young talent early and elevate them to the national level. The program extends school cricket to remote areas of the country.
