Sanaa: (RightNow) Yemeni Houthi rebels claim to have shot down a Saudi-owned armed drone. According to the Houthis, the drone was involved in suspicious activities in Yemen’s Al-Bayda province and was targeted.

Global news agencies report that Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated the Wing Loong II drone was hit with appropriate weaponry. This marks the third drone the Houthis claim to have downed in 24 hours.

Saudi Arabia has yet to respond to the Houthis’ claim. Independent verification of the drone’s downing has not been achieved.

The incident occurs amid ongoing regional tensions, raising security concerns over the Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb.

It is noteworthy that in July, the Houthis announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia in Bab-el-Mandeb, citing accusations of a Saudi blockade.
