The EU’s involvement in US sanctions may further limit Iran’s global financial access, increasing economic pressure.
Washington: (RightNow) US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announces that the European Union has joined the US campaign to increase economic pressure on Iran. This initiative, under ‘Operation Economic Outcast,’ aims to prevent Iran from misusing the global financial system.
Besant stated on social media that the US, along with its allies, seeks to ensure Iran does not use the financial system for its nuclear program and weapons development. He emphasized that economic pressure on Iran will continue until its financial resources are exhausted.
The EU’s participation in this campaign will further increase financial and economic pressure on Iran. This could lead to more restrictions on Iranian activities within the global financial system.
This move could pose challenges for Iran as its access to the global financial system becomes limited, potentially impacting its economy negatively.
It is noteworthy that the US has long imposed sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program. The inclusion of the EU will strengthen these efforts.
