Washington: (RightNow) The US Mint, a division of the US Treasury, has released commemorative coins featuring President Donald Trump. These coins are valued at one dollar, marking Trump as the first living president in a century to be featured on US currency.

The coins were issued to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The coin displays Trump’s image along with the phrase ‘In God We Trust’.

The US Mint set the price for a roll of 25 coins at $61 and a bag of 100 coins at $154.50. Within hours of the sale’s start, the coins were marked ‘currently unavailable’ on the website.

According to US law, living individuals are not permitted to be depicted on currency. Trump’s allies have proposed changes to this law in Congress.

It is noteworthy that in 1926, during America’s 150th anniversary, a half-dollar coin featured the image of then-living President Calvin Coolidge.
