Washington: (RightNow) U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed a desire to rename the Strait of Hormuz as ‘Trump Street.’ Iran has closed the strait due to conflict, while the U.S. claims control over it.

Trump stated on his social media platform that if the Strait of Hormuz is under U.S. control, shouldn’t it be named ‘Trump Street’? This is not the first time Trump has suggested renaming a geographical location.

Previously, he ordered the renaming of ‘Lake Ontario’ to ‘Lake America’ during a trade war with Canada and ‘Gulf of Mexico’ to ‘Gulf of America.’ Both countries rejected these changes.

It is important to note that one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Recent U.S. military actions have led to rising oil prices in the global market.
