US attacks on Iran’s Qeshm and Kish islands in the Persian Gulf have damaged a power plant, escalating tensions.
Tehran: (RightNow). Reports indicate US attacks on Iran’s key islands, Qeshm and Kish, in the Persian Gulf. Iranian media report explosions on Qeshm Island and damage to Kish’s power plant.
The Hormozgan Province Governor’s Office confirmed the attacks. They stated the US attack on Qeshm Island occurred at 7 PM local time. Details of casualties or financial losses have not yet been released.
Iranian news agency Fars reported multiple explosions heard in Qeshm. Kish Island’s power plant also sustained damage.
Some units of the power plant may be shut down for repairs. The US Central Command confirmed attacks on various targets in Iran but did not issue a statement on these attacks.
It is noteworthy that Qeshm and Kish are significant islands for Iran. Qeshm is Iran’s largest island, while Kish is a tourist hub and holds strategic importance for the Iranian Navy.
