Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have led to a rise in crude oil prices, impacting the global economy.
Riyadh: (RightNow) Yemen’s Houthis have launched attacks on Saudi Arabia’s energy, airport, and military installations. Following these attacks, global crude oil prices have surged.
Brent crude oil prices increased by 17 cents, reaching $110.03 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude oil prices rose by $1.68, reaching $103.09 per barrel.
Investors had previously seen a $3 drop in Brent prices during the trading session due to profit-taking. However, prices surged again after the Houthi attacks.
Saudi Arabia’s energy installations, including the Aramco facility in Yanbu, Shaybah oil field, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, and Abha Airport, were targeted in the attacks.
It is important to note that Saudi officials have not immediately confirmed the Houthi claims. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks on Monday.
