Cairo: (RightNow) Egypt has announced its decision to deploy military troops for the defense of Saudi Arabia. The National Defense Council of Egypt has approved this plan, but it awaits consideration in parliament.

Following recent Houthi attacks, the Egyptian government has pledged full military cooperation to ensure Saudi Arabia’s security. The deployment of troops was approved in a meeting chaired by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Mustafa Bakri stated on social media that the military mission was approved in a meeting led by President el-Sisi. An emergency session of the Egyptian parliament has also been called.

It is noteworthy that Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have increased. Egypt has linked Saudi Arabia’s security to its national security and announced efforts to enhance diplomatic measures.

It should be noted that Egypt participated in the Yemen war under Saudi leadership in 2015. The current development hinges on parliamentary approval.
