Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has crossed the milestone of 16,000 runs in international cricket. He is the fifth Pakistani batter to achieve this feat.
Babar Azam accomplished this milestone in the first match of the tri-nation ODI series against Sri Lanka. He scored 45 runs off 57 balls, including 6 fours.
According to PCB, Babar Azam reached this milestone in his 399th innings. Mohammad Yousuf completed these runs in 388 innings, while Javed Miandad achieved it in 398 innings.
It is noteworthy that Babar Azam’s recent form and struggles with short balls have been under discussion. In the match against Sri Lanka, he was also dismissed on a short ball, highlighting a weakness in his batting.
Remember, Babar Azam is a crucial part of Pakistan’s batting lineup and represents the national team in all three formats. He has played many significant innings in the past.
