The US State Department accuses the Indian government of failing to combat human trafficking, posing a global threat.
New Delhi: (RightNow). The US State Department has expressed serious concerns over the Modi government’s failure to control human trafficking. The weak control by the Hindu nationalist BJP government is making Indian traffickers a global threat.
According to the US report, the Indian government has failed to eliminate human trafficking and does not meet the set standards. Additionally, few cases have been registered against human trafficking, and fewer criminals have been convicted.
The lack of effective institutional efforts against human trafficking in India, due to the absence of an inter-ministerial committee and a national action plan, is exacerbating the issue.
This matter holds global significance as Indian traffickers are becoming involved in human trafficking, fake degree networks, and terrorism.
It is noteworthy that the lack of substantial measures against human trafficking in India is causing international concern.
