New Delhi: (RightNow) Protests by Gen Z and the opposition alliance in India have captured international media attention. Demonstrators gathered in large numbers in New Delhi against the Modi government.

According to The Washington Post, the Modi government’s grip is weakening, while the enthusiasm of the youth is at its peak. The New Yorker also reported on the absence of 100 million voters and crackdown news emerging from India.

The Financial Times stated that the Modi government is trying to suppress the protesters, but the youth are determined to raise their voices. The Economist noted that after 12 years, Gen Z is challenging Modi, unaffected by his policies.

Human Rights Watch reported that police are using violence against protesters and targeting journalists. Time Magazine questioned the transparency of India’s electoral system and emphasized the need for reforms.

It is important to note that the protest aims to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Critics claim that amendments to the voter list benefit the BJP, and several protesters have been detained.
