Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal contacts Jamaat-e-Islami for talks on petroleum levy.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has contacted Jamaat-e-Islami’s Deputy Amir Liaqat Baloch. He stated that the contact was made to deliver a message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the report, Ahsan Iqbal conveyed the Prime Minister’s message regarding negotiations on the petroleum levy to Liaqat Baloch. Liaqat Baloch mentioned that committees from both parties will schedule a meeting.
Liaqat Baloch informed that the meeting will include Shehbaz Sharif and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman. Both leaders will meet according to the agreed schedule.
The meeting will discuss the abolition of the petroleum levy and providing relief to the public. Jamaat-e-Islami will demand the removal of the levy.
It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami demands a reduction in electricity prices and will also discuss issues related to IPPs with the Prime Minister.
