Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a 10-day Basant festival in Lahore. This decision is a major announcement for the lively citizens of Lahore.

The Basant festival will run from January 29 to February 7, 2026. The festival will not be celebrated on February 5 in respect of Kashmir Day.

Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari stated that the Chief Minister has given this gift to Lahoris for the arrival of the new year 2027. She also issued special instructions for the safety of citizens.

During Basant, Lahore’s history and culture will be promoted globally. The Chief Minister has appealed to the public to celebrate responsibly and safely.

It is noteworthy that Basant was celebrated last year after a 25-year hiatus. Cultural and musical programs will also be organized in March 2027.
