Lahore: (RightNow) Under the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, drone, night, and hawk-eye squads are closely monitoring pollution sources.

In the past 24 hours, inspections were conducted on 362 kilns and 199 industrial units across Punjab. As a result of violations, 11 industrial units have been sealed.

Six brick kilns were also sealed for breaching environmental laws, with 2 FIRs registered and fines totaling 8 lakh rupees imposed.

Action against barbecue and commercial cooking points has intensified. Inspections were carried out at 205 locations, with suction hoods installed at 59 sites.

It is noteworthy that despite weak seasonal winds, the Punjab government’s comprehensive action plan continues to curb smoke emissions.
