Beijing: (RightNow) A Chinese company specializing in humanoid robots has announced plans to develop robots by 2027 that can understand and execute instructions in natural language. According to the company, the ‘brain’ of these robots is currently the weakest link, which is being improved.

Currently, Chinese companies have made significant advancements in robot hardware. These robots can perform physical movements like running, dancing, and backflips. The focus now is on their comprehension and operational abilities, known as ’embodied AI’.

Spirit AI’s Chief Scientist Gao Yang stated that by 2027, robots will be able to follow instructions given in everyday language. However, performing complex tasks at home remains a challenge.

It is noteworthy that following the success of ChatGPT, robotic companies have anticipated similar advancements. Spirit AI is collecting real-world data to train robots to better understand human actions.

Spirit AI, established in 2024, has raised over $670 million in funding. The company’s robots are used in commercial spaces, but work on their full autonomy and safety measures is ongoing.
