Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Cyber Crime Agency received over 3 thousand financial fraud complaints, but only 26 FIRs (First Information Reports) were filed.

According to documents, by August 20 this year, 3005 complaints were received, with 854 inquiries registered, yet FIRs remained significantly low.

Staff shortages or lack of strategy are possible reasons for the low number of FIRs even after inquiries. In the agency’s 3 circles, action on financial and WhatsApp complaints has been slow.

This situation is crucial as the issue of financial fraud is growing, and delays in resolving complaints could diminish public trust.

It is noteworthy that out of 540 WhatsApp fraud complaints, only 16 inquiries were registered, and no FIRs were filed in eight months.
