Lahore: (RightNow) Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced nationwide protests against the petroleum levy on Friday. He stated that further oppression on the public will not be tolerated, and sit-ins will occur at 510 locations.

He mentioned that during the protests, only ambulances will be allowed passage, and if obstacles are created, the protest will turn into a movement to topple the government. Hafiz Naeem stated that millions will take to the streets against the rulers on Friday.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman emphasized that the government must meet the public’s demands, and if the rulers do not act wisely, they will be responsible for the consequences. He claimed that the petroleum levy is not a tax but extortion, causing distress to everyone.

He further added that during wartime conditions in the region, prices were raised using the global market as an excuse, but not a single rupee has been spent on oil refineries. If the government abolishes the levy, the economy will improve.

It is noteworthy that the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami stated that the rulers in power are not utilizing the nation’s wealth properly, and the current system has become paralyzed.
