Vehari: (RightNow) A tragic accident occurred near the old bus station in Vehari during the cleaning of a sewer line. Two WASA employees died after falling into the sewer during the cleaning process.

Sources report that the deceased workers were from Khanewal district. Allegedly, they entered the sewer without safety gear, relying on a rope. The rope slipped, causing them to fall into the deep sewer.

Upon receiving the accident report, rescue teams arrived at the scene. After completing the rescue operation, the bodies were retrieved from the sewer and transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital Vehari.

The accident occurred due to the absence of safety measures, posing a significant risk to the workers’ lives. This incident highlights the importance of safety at workplaces.

It is noteworthy that in Pakistan, accidents due to a lack of safety measures during work are common, increasing the risk of human life loss.
