New Delhi: (RightNow) Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned following student protests. According to Indian media, he sent his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who accepted it.

The Kakroach Janata Party stated on X that the power of students prevails as Minister Pradhan steps down. Students had been protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar since June 5. The party demanded the minister’s resignation after an exam paper leak.

The Kakroach Janata Party refuses to end the protest, demanding action against police officers involved in the July 20 crackdown on demonstrators and ensuring Pradhan is not given a new ministry.

Following the resignation of the Indian Education Minister, celebrations erupted in Delhi. Students expressed joy, calling it a victory for democracy. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk congratulated the students.

It is noteworthy that the Kakroach Janata Party has announced a nationwide candle march, with several prominent Indian figures participating in the student protests.
