Karachi: (RightNow) The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain with strong winds in Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Flooding and landslides are expected in these areas within the next 24 hours.
The weather in Karachi is unusually cloudy today, with high humidity levels. According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent rain is expected in Karachi tonight.
Authorities have stated that this monsoon spell will continue across Sindh until July 27. Rain is also expected to persist in the plains and mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Meteorological Department has warned of landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in streams and rivers. Low-lying areas in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, and Swabi are at risk of submersion.
It is noteworthy that strong winds and rain were also experienced in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday. Bajaur recorded 58 mm of rain, and rain is also expected in districts of Balochistan.
