Peshawar: (RightNow) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decides to outsource public sports facilities. After hospitals and schools, sports facilities will now be managed by the private sector.

Tenders have been issued for the management of Hayatabad and Peshawar Sports Complexes. Pre-qualification applications are invited from the private sector.

Officials state that hockey grounds, squash and tennis courts, swimming pools, basketball courts, and badminton halls will be handed over to the private sector for five years.

The outsourcing period is five years, with a possible extension of another five years upon satisfactory performance. This step is crucial for sports development.

It is noteworthy that public hospitals and schools were previously outsourced, yielding positive results.
