Colombo: (RightNow) Pakistan’s spinner Mohammad Nawaz has admitted to violating the ICC Anti-Doping Code. His doping test was conducted on February 7, 2026, in Sri Lanka after the T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands.

According to the ICC, Nawaz’s sample contained a prohibited substance. He stated that the substance was not used to enhance performance but for another purpose.

Mohammad Nawaz has been banned for three months starting from May 1, 2026. He voluntarily accepted a temporary suspension.

The ICC has stated that if Nawaz successfully completes a drug treatment program, the ban may be reduced by one month.

It is noteworthy that Mohammad Nawaz’s cricket records from February 7 to May 1, 2026, have been annulled, and he has already served two and a half months of suspension.
