The Federal Constitutional Court has nullified Supreme Court decisions on Monal Restaurant and Nasla Tower, questioning jurisdiction.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Federal Constitutional Court has recently nullified the Supreme Court’s decisions regarding Monal Restaurant and Nasla Tower. The court stated that the Supreme Court exceeded its jurisdiction.
A three-member bench overturned the Supreme Court’s decision to demolish Monal Restaurant. Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi mentioned that the Supreme Court overlooked legal aspects.
In the Nasla Tower case, the Federal Constitutional Court revoked the Supreme Court’s decision. The court emphasized that land management is a provincial government authority.
With the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court’s powers have been limited. Constitutional interpretations and fundamental rights cases now fall under this court’s jurisdiction.
It is noteworthy that Supreme Court decisions have been reviewed in the past. The Bhutto case and other significant cases have seen such reviews.
