Karachi: (RightNow) Two ships carrying LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) from Oman have arrived in Pakistan. This arrival increases the likelihood of reduced LPG prices in the country.

Sources report that the ships have delivered a total of 7,603 metric tons of LPG to Port Qasim. The ship ‘Pryanis’ offloaded 4,250 metric tons at the SSGC terminal, while ‘Alyssa One’ offloaded 3,083 metric tons at the Engro terminal.

Sources indicate that LPG supply from Iran is expected to resume via the border tomorrow, further improving LPG availability in the country.

Market sources suggest that with improved LPG supply, prices are expected to decrease from tomorrow. OGRA’s rate is set at 280 PKR, and the federal minister’s suggested rate is 425 PKR, while the market rate ranges from 550 to 650 PKR per kilogram.

It is noteworthy that in northern areas, LPG prices have reached up to 750 PKR per kilogram, causing difficulties for the public. A price reduction could provide relief to the people.
