Google introduces a new Chrome feature to alert users on suspicious websites, enhancing online safety.
Lahore: (RightNow) Google has introduced a new feature in the Chrome web browser to enhance user protection. This feature will alert users before opening suspicious or dangerous websites.
The alert will be generated through Chrome’s 2-page system, initially introduced in 2024 for file downloads. This system displays notices like ‘suspicious’ or ‘dangerous’ during file downloads.
Chrome will flag a website as suspicious if it resembles scam or malware-associated sites. Google advises users to visit a website only when they are 100% sure after receiving the alert.
The 2-warning design aims to help distinguish between websites. Alerts for suspicious websites will pop up on both desktop and mobile versions of Chrome.
It is noteworthy that Google is enhancing fraud detection with the help of Gemini, but all details have not yet been disclosed.
