Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui claims Pakistan has shifted from Jinnah’s vision to Bhutto’s, emphasizing Karachi’s historical significance.
Karachi: (RightNow) MQM Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui claims Pakistan has shifted from Jinnah’s vision to Bhutto’s. According to him, Karachi was the capital of the country, now part of Bhutto’s Pakistan.
MQM Pakistan leader Khalid Maqbool addressed North Nazimabad Residents Committee, stating new provinces are a longstanding MQM demand. He claims Karachi was never part of Sindh but was the capital of Jinnah’s Pakistan.
Khalid Maqbool further stated that until the 1970s, Karachi was separate from Sindh. He mentioned that history has no connection to the current situation, and when Sindh is discussed, people bring up 5000 years of history.
He claims Karachi was overlooked during the country’s formation, and when the capital was changed, it was under the One Unit system. He stated no referendum or voting occurred when provinces were restored, and Karachi was made part of Sindh without consultation.
It is noteworthy that MQM Pakistan leadership has always emphasized Karachi’s importance and rights. Khalid Maqbool’s statement is part of efforts to secure Karachi’s rightful status.
