The government enforces emergency and governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; PTI ban decision remains premature.
Islamabad: (RightNow). Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar states that a final opinion on banning PTI is premature. A two-day parliamentary debate occurred on the imposition of emergency and governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Information Minister mentioned that the purpose of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisory Council is to improve public service delivery. He emphasized that the government’s primary stance is cooperation between the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments.
Attaullah Tarar, speaking to the media, said the government and its allies presented their stance in parliament, while the opposition had no response.
He stressed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government must cooperate against terrorism. Without this cooperation, terrorist incidents in the province are unacceptable.
It is noteworthy that on October 11, 2026, the federal government imposed an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.
